Medi-Care Hospital, founded on 13th August 1988 by Dr. Salimaddin Nasaruddin Shekh, stands as one of the most trusted healthcare institutions in North Gujarat. What began as a vision to bring advanced medical care to Palanpur has today become a beacon of hope, healing, and compassion for thousands of patients.
Dr. Shekh, born in 1956 in Shree Amirgarh, has dedicated over 40 years of medical service (1985–2025) to the well-being of society. After earning his MBBS and MD (Physician) from the prestigious B.J. Medical College & Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, he served at Civil Hospital, Palanpur, before establishing Medi-Care Hospital.
With his expertise and pioneering spirit, Dr. Shekh became the first Muslim physician in North Gujarat, the fifth private physician in Palanpur, and the first private practitioner to treat cardiac patients locally. Over the past 37 years, Medi-Care Hospital has grown into a fully equipped medical center, handling a wide range of emergencies and critical cases with excellence.
Beyond medical achievements, Medi-Care Hospital reflects Dr. Shekh’s values of humanity and compassion. Known for extending free or concessional treatment to the underprivileged, Dr. Shekh ensured that healthcare remained accessible to all, regardless of financial background. His long-standing association with the Lions Club further amplifies this commitment, with initiatives such as free cataract surgeries, blanket distribution drives, and numerous community welfare activities.
At Medi-Care Hospital, we believe that medicine is not just about curing illness — it is about serving humanity.
