A Historical Journey of Dr. Salimaddin Nasaruddin Shekh
In the year 1956, in the town of Shree Amirgarh, North Gujarat witnessed the birth of a man who would later become one of its most respected physicians — Dr. Salimaddin Nasaruddin Shekh.
He began his educational journey in 1961 with primary schooling in Shree Amirgarh and went on to complete his higher secondary education in 1973 from Vidhyamandir, Palanpur.
In 1979, Dr. Shekh earned his MBBS degree from B.J. Medical College & Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. With a passion for deeper medical knowledge, he pursued M.D. (Physician) at the same institution, which he completed in 1985.
From 1986 to 1988, he served as a Consultant Physician at Civil Hospital, Palanpur, gaining valuable experience in patient care and emergency management.
On 13th August 1988, Dr. Shekh marked a turning point in the medical history of the region by founding Medi-Care Hospital in Palanpur. This made him the first Muslim physician in North Gujarat, the fifth private physician in Palanpur, and the first private practitioner to treat cardiac patients locally.
